A Comprehensive Upgrade to Escape From Tarkov
A recent patch rolled out for the celebrated video game, Escape From Tarkov, effectively addresses several persisting technical glitches. Although these updates don’t introduce new content, they contribute significantly to optimizing the game’s core infrastructure.
Illuminating Enhancements to Flashlights
Hardcore fans are set to benefit from an in-depth retooling of the flashlight mechanics. Eliminating long-standing glitches, weapon-mounted torches will no longer anomalously penetrate through barriers. Moreover, backpack-carrying flashlights won’t flicker when switched off – a bug that often resulted in unintended player fatalities.
The developers have also revamped the flashlight’s brightness and beam range. While it remains unclear what exactly has been “fixed,” we might anticipate some flashlights illuminating the game world with extraordinary brilliance.
Auditory Improvements across Maps
Significant sound modifications have occurred on the Lighthouse and Interchange maps, with supplemental adjustments on Reserve and The Lab. Accompanying these is a notable change in the headset system, which entails the reduction of overall volume while enhancing high frequencies for a more realistic auditory experience. The update’s cherry on top? Some headsets now amplify the range of detectable footsteps and voices, providing a tactical edge.
Alterations in Bot Behavior and Player Interactions
An interesting development is that bots can’t perform immediate turns while prone, accompanied by their reduced chatter during combat and unaware states. Furthermore, players won’t accrue experience points by looting or eliminating fellow group members. Dogtags from group allies won’t count as in-raid finds, selling for a mere single rouble.
First Step on BattleState Games’ Roadmap
This significant update marks the first milestone in the roadmap charted by the developer, BattleState Games. As indicated on their Facebook page, the imminent plan is a shift to Unity 2021, an enhanced version of the game engine propelling the game. Following this, players can expect another technical update and version 14.0, set to expand the Streets of Tarkov map and introduce new weapons and vaulting.
